The Infamous was formed when members of two well known local bands got together and decided to write some songs, Ian Scott of Freshold (guitar) joined forces with Benji Robertson formerly of The Cigars (Vox) and subsequently decided to form a serious Rock & Roll band with the attitude and performing of their musical heroes. Benji originally played the bass and sang in the band, but soon they recruited the help of ex M.M.S.F bassist Jon Groom. This allowed Ben to give everything as the frontman of the band as he had done with The Cigars. Within a few days it was suggested that they try an old school friend of Ian’s, Rhydz Davies on guitar, and Ben brought in ex Cigars band mate and then drummer for Supergene Edd Clemas, which finalised the line-up 22nd of October 2008. Since then, the band has gone from strength to strength.
With the collective experience of each of the band members, each having toured extensively in the UK with other projects, and one (Edd) having toured in the USA at the Age of 16 with Supergene, the band had a professional outlook from the start and have come a long way since their beginnings. Having drawn crowds of over 300 people at previous gigs and with a main stage slot confirmed for Rock N Roots Festival supporting Marillion, Jefferson Starship and Cerys Matthews as well as others, things are progressing nicely.
Seeing as we love what we do we always put on a good performance and guarantee to get the crowd going. We always have a great time at gigs and really enjoy ourselves on and off-stage.
what do I think? ....This band is wicked and good rock and roll, oh yes ... put on your thigh high boots and shake your hips, and wish that i still had the guts to wear terribly short skirts without the fear of looking like mutton .............air guitar , i think so.
and what flavour ? it would have to be Jack daniels an coke .... with ice and lemon
